Trainee structured cabling technicians

Position – Trainee Structured Cabling Technician

(Reports to: Charge Hand or Foreman on site)

Summary

We operate across a number of countries including, Ireland, UK, & EMEA region. Key Responsibilities:  Adhering to instruction from your supervisor and assist in the installation of Cat6 and Cat6a cables. Take responsibility for the effective delivery of the project for the client by keeping both you and your colleagues safe and an openness and desire to learning and development of your own skillset.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of Cat6 and Cat6a structured cabling, testing of installation with a Fluke Cable Analyser and terminating fibre optic cabling. Learn how to read construction drawings
  • Learn how to terminate copper cables
  • Learn how to test copper cables
  • Ensure all Health & Safety precautions are adhered to
  • Ensure all security procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Wear PPE as specified by supervision
  • Be prepared to work on any of the sites serviced by CET Connect Ltd, abroad or home
  • Travel is a requirement of the position
  • Carry out any general duties or ad hoc duties as assigned

General Requirements for the position

  • Must have a valid safe pass
  • Must have up to date Manual Handling Certificate
  • Working at Heights an advantage
  • MEWP or Hoist Operator training (not essential but would be an advantage)
  • Own transport an advantage
