Ireland - Trainee Structured Cabling Technician

Position – Trainee Structured Cabling Technician

(Reports to: Charge Hand or Foreman on site)

Key Responsibilities: Ensure all Health & Safety precautions are adhered to. Ensure all security procedures are strictly adhered to. Adhering to instruction from your supervisor and assist in the installation of Cat6 and Cat6a cables. Take responsibility for the effective delivery of the project for the client by keeping both you and your colleagues safe and an openness and desire to learning and development of your own skill set.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of Cat6 and Cat6a structured cabling, testing of installation with a Fluke Cable Analyser and terminating fibre optic cabling.
  • Learn how to read construction drawings
  • Learn how to terminate and test copper cables
  • Learn how to terminate fibre optic cable
  • Wear required PPE
  • You are required to work on any of the sites serviced by CET Connect Ltd, either home or abroad
  • Travel is a requirement of the position
  • Carry out any other duties assigned in keeping with your role

General Requirements for the position

  • Must hold a valid and in-date safe pass
  • Must hold a valid and in-date Manual Handling Certificate
  • Certification in Working at Heights, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) or Hoist Operator training is an advantage but not essential
  • Own transport an advantage

Commercial Co-Ordinator
  • Open Vacancy – Commercial Co Ordinator

     

    We are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity to recruit for the role of Commercial Co Ordinator. The role will report to Mary Lynch, Group Finance Manager and will operate from our Head Office in Clonmel. We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates, both internally and externally.

    Key Responsibilities:  The key responsibility of the role is to manage the complete set of commercial activity from contract inception to project completion. There is a strong emphasis on systems, process and relationship building and communication skills.

    Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

    • Liaise on a regular basis with the Group Finance Manager
    • Responsibility for all Commercial activity from project inception to completion
    • Conduct contract review and contract negotiation
    • Agree commercial terms with customers and sub-contractors
    • Set appropriate project budgets
    • Develop contract plan including identification and elimination of risk
    • Monitor and control project costs including productivity and material purchasing
    • Regular review of projects progress with Project Managers to include current costs, projects costs and project performance
    • Submit and agree monthly progress valuations
    • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Client representatives
    • Submit invoice to client and liaise with Accounts Department to successful project closure
    • Review subcontractors’ invoices, agree and approve for payment
    • Monitor labour rate mix on specific projects and overall across the company
    • Prepare suite of Commercial Reports for Management review and analysis
    • Continued development, improvement of ERP system ensuring fit for purpose

    Person Specification:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following:

      • Previous proven success in a Commercial, Project Management or similar role, in a technical industry

     

  • Third Level Education in Business, Project Management, Engineering is an advantage when coupled with relevant experience but not essential

  • Proven experience of negotiations and issue resolution

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Business Unit Manager

We are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity to recruit for the role of Project Manager.  The role will report to Paul O’Neill, Snr Projects Manager and will operate from our Head Office in Clonmel and travel will also be a requirement of this role. We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates, both internally and externally.  

Key Responsibilities:  The role of the Project Manager provides our clients with a variety of management services, such as successfully executing a project or a sub-project, on time, in scope and on budget while continually analysing and implementing plans to improve project profitability. Due to the nature, cope and customer base for this role, ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis is a critical requirement of the role.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all Projects are delivered using the appropriate Health & Safety procedures, guidelines and practices
  • Regular engagement and communication with our customer client base
  • Prepare Project Management Plans and Project Phase Plans for each state of the Project
  • Prepare and plan timely resource forecast requirements
  • Allocate project tasks and priorities as required
  • Propose for approval all tactical contingency plans in anticipation of potential risks
  • Successfully execute each Project and continually monitor and control progress against project baseline and propose corrective actions
  • Collate, analyse and report on Project Metrics at each project stage
  • Conduct ongoing and regular review with the aim of identifying opportunities for potential improvements to the timeline, scope and budget
  • Ensure timely project closure

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Previous proven success in a Project Management role or similar
  • Experience of delivering projects in telecoms/data centre/infrastructure-based projects
  • Strong IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Proven successful experience in business acumen and budgetary controls
  • Flexibility in terms of travel, working hours and location due to the Global and European nature of the role
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Highly self-motivated, organised and disciplined in approach
  • Open and flexible approach and commitment to meeting the client’s requirements
